olly Parton was an icon in many ways - beyond her incredible outfits, confidence and performing abilities, she was a lifelong advocate for learning. In 1995, Dolly Parton launched the Imagination Library.
After watching her father who could not read or write struggle through many elements of life, she wanted to make sure the children of Tennessee has access to quality books. She began the Imagination Library to send free books to children from birth to age 5 all around the world.
Dolly Parton’s legacy is being celebrated across the country on September 25th, 2026 (on 9 to 5, get it?). To join in on the recognition of her legacy, we’ll be collecting funds to purchase children’s books to place in local Little Free Libraries.
